Officer Medeiros was born in Honolulu and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1956. He spent four years in the Air Force before joining the Honolulu Police Department.
On January 25, 1967 Officer Medeiros was attempting to make a traffic stop on a speeding sports car traveling on Lunalilo Street near Piikoi Street. Officer Medeiros followed the speeding vehicle to get closer when another vehicle suddenly changed lanes into Officer Medeiros path.
Officer Medeiros lost control of his motorcycle and skid sideways along the street until striking a pole. He was transported to Queens Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
